Empowering Children for a Brighter Future: USANA Kids Eat on Giving Tuesday

As we approach the holiday season, there’s a special day that stands out as a beacon of hope and generosity—Giving Tuesday.

Today, people worldwide are coming together to support causes that are close to their hearts and make a positive impact in their communities. This Giving Tuesday, you have a remarkable opportunity to be part of a transformative initiative that is changing the lives of children in Utah by supporting our USANA Kids Eat programs including our weekend food bags and our Holiday Bag project!

The History of Giving Tuesday

Before we dive into the vital work of Giving Tuesday, let’s take a moment to explore the history of Giving Tuesday. Founded in 2012, Giving Tuesday is a global day of giving on the Tuesday after Thanksgiving. It was created in response to the commercialism of Black Friday and Cyber Monday, as a way to channel the spirit of the season toward charitable causes.

Since its inception, Giving Tuesday has grown into a global movement, inspiring millions to come together to support causes they care about. And we’d love to partner with you today in changing the lives of incredible children right here in our community!

Empowering Children for a Healthier, More Successful Future

We are proud to say that USANA Kids Eat is a shining example of how Giving Tuesday’s spirit can create real, lasting change. Our program is dedicated to eliminating childhood hunger by providing backpacks filled with non-perishable, easily prepared food to school children in need.

Our program’s mission is simple yet profound: to empower children to become their healthiest, most successful selves by ensuring they have access to the nutrition they need, especially during weekends when they may not have access to school meals.

The Local Impact of USANA Kids Eat

The impact of USANA Kids Eat is not only inspiring but also extensive.

In 2023, we delivered over 3,785 backpacks and nearly 445,000 meals to children, and the year isn’t even over. This support reaches 40+ schools across the Wasatch Front, ensuring that children of all ages, from kindergarten to high school seniors, have the nutrition they need to thrive and succeed inside and outside the classroom.

The dedication of our donors and volunteers is remarkable. They make it their mission to protect the dignity of these hardworking students and provide support anonymously, focusing on relationships between schools and sponsors rather than individual students.

The Role of Giving Tuesday

This Giving Tuesday, you have the opportunity to make a profound difference in the lives of these resilient, amazing children. By supporting USANA Kids Eat, you’re contributing to a cause that empowers children, supports their growth and development, and ensures they have access to healthy meals. It’s a chance to be part of a local initiative with a global impact, mirroring the spirit of Giving Tuesday.

We wouldn’t be where we are today without our incredible supporters, volunteers, sponsors, and donors. Causes like USANA Kids Eat remind us of the power of collective compassion. It allows us to focus on our shared humanity and give back to our local communities, ensuring that no child should ever go hungry and that every child has the opportunity to become their healthiest, most successful self.
