‘Tis the Season to Pass it Along

The community is quickly starting to catch the vision and help in packing meals for at-risk youth in the Salt Lake Valley. We believe that no child should ever go hungry and because of this, we want to provide meals for those who may not have food on weekends or holidays. Fortunately for us, Mountain America Credit Union is on board with this same mission.

Earlier this year, we had an incredible opportunity to host Mountain America Credit Union for a V.I.P. Pack where they came to help fill food packs which then went to schools throughout the Salt Lake Valley.

“Mountain America is honored to support USANA Kids Eat to eliminate hunger in Utah schools,” says Sterling Nielsen, president and chief executive officer at Mountain America Credit Union. “Providing kids with after-school and weekend meals gives them the strength needed to succeed academically and pursue their future dreams.”

This lead to us receiving the Pass it Along Award from Mountain America Credit Union where we were awarded a fan-nominated reward of $5,000 to help sustain feeding children.

“We are honored and excited to be the recipient of the ‘Pass it Along’ award. With our new facility, we will be able to reach even more hungry kids and we can’t wait for families, corporations, and community groups to come get involved with volunteering and food packing,” says Michelle Benedict, engagement manager at USANA Kids Eat. “We are proud to be a part of such a caring community and grateful for the support.”

As our facility opens this Thursday, we hope you’ll take the time to join with us by registering to pack meals for children here (can we add this link?). It’s only because of the incredible support of community members like you, that this has been able to grow into what is now a humanitarian facility. Let’s be sure that no child ever goes hungry.

VISION & MISSION

We believe everyone should have access to quality nutrition.

Childhood hunger is unacceptable. The USANA Kids Eat program provides the framework to combat hunger, remove meal uncertainty, and challenge the community to join our cause. By creating powerful partnerships within the community, together, we can provide a stable source of food, helping kids reach their fullest potential. Every meal gives relief to struggling families and provides kids with the nutrition they need to succeed in school, pursue their dreams, and sleep easier. Because no child should ever go hungry.
