USANA Executives Make an Impact with USANA Kids Eat School Sponsorships

USANA Kids Eat is dedicated to fighting childhood hunger by providing weekend meals to food-insecure children.

A USANA Kids Eat sponsorship involves committing to cover the cost of weekend food bags for students at a particular school throughout the school year. These sponsorships are essential for keeping our program afloat and ensuring that we can reach as many children as possible.

Incredible support from remarkable USANA leaders

Last year, we were fortunate to have significant support from USANA executives. Their commitment to our cause not only provided critical funding but also inspired others within the company to get involved.

The leadership and generosity of Amy Haran, Ashley Collins, Jim Brown, Kevin Guest, Doug Hekking, Pete Benedict, Paul Jones, Rob Sinnott, Mark Olson, and Josh Foukas made a substantial impact on the program, helping us reach more children and provide more meals than ever before.

In the last year, USANA executives collectively supported numerous schools and provided over 4,000 weekend meal bags to children in need, which equates to 28,000 meals. This directly translated to support for dozens of schools and hundreds of students across the Wasatch Front.

Their contributions ensured that these children had reliable access to nutritious food over the weekends, which is crucial for their well-being and academic success. Thank you, USANA executives!

Giving back with an open heart

USANA’s President and CEO, Jim Brown, is serious about supporting the ongoing Foundation and USANA Kids Eat efforts, providing both financial and social support of the ongoing work both locally and globally. His continual championing of the USANA Foundation’s programs is a key aspect of the program’s success. Jim’s dedication, along with other executives, underscores the collective effort required to combat childhood hunger.

Amy Haran, Executive Vice President of Communications, emphasized the program’s impact, stating:

“We’ve seen firsthand the difference USANA Kids Eat makes in the lives of Utah kids. Food is the foundation for everything from physical health to emotional security to academic success; Kids Eat helps close some of these crucial gaps for students. The beauty of USANA Kids Eat is they oversee a complex process of food procurement, packing, and delivery. Yet, they make it incredibly simple for Utah kids to receive this much-needed support. Kids Eat’s mission, track record, and stellar leadership all make it easy for us to support this organization.”

While we are focusing here on our executive sponsors, it is important to acknowledge the broader USANA family.

Many other USANA employees have shown their support through regular donations from their paychecks. This consistent generosity has made a tremendous difference, and collectively, USANA employees raised a significant amount for USANA Kids Eat last year, helping us to reach more children and provide more meals than ever before. We are deeply grateful for their ongoing support and commitment to our cause.

Want to help alleviate childhood hunger in Utah?

Becoming a sponsor for USANA Kids Eat is a straightforward but impactful way to make a difference.

Sponsors commit to covering the cost of weekend meal bags for students at a specific school for the entire school year. Each bag costs $10, and the total sponsorship for a school is calculated based on the number of children in need, multiplied by the 40 weeks of the school year.

For example, sponsoring a school with 20 children would require a commitment of $8,000 for the year ($10 x 20 children x 40 weeks).

A good fit for sponsorship includes businesses, community organizations, and individuals who are passionate about supporting children and fighting hunger.

Sponsors not only provide financial support but also have the opportunity to engage more deeply with the program through activities like food packing events. These events offer a hands-on way to see the impact of their contributions and foster a sense of community and purpose.

If you are interested in sponsoring a school, we can arrange for your family or company to participate in a pack event to see firsthand what we do and the difference you can make!

More Utah schools need support this school year

As we look ahead to the next school year, we know that the need for sponsorships remains critical. We currently have several schools on our waiting list that require sponsors. We need additional sponsors to step forward to continue expanding our reach and providing weekend meals to more children.

Specifically, we currently need sponsorships for 10 more schools, enabling us to support hundreds of additional students.

The support from USANA executives has been instrumental in sustaining and growing the USANA Kids Eat program. Their contributions have provided thousands of meals, supported numerous schools, and made a significant impact on the lives of many children.

We are immensely grateful for their generosity and leadership. As we prepare for the upcoming school year, we invite more sponsors to join us in this important mission. Together, we can ensure that no child goes hungry over the weekend and that they have the nutrition they need to thrive both in and out of the classroom.
