September is nationally recognized as Hunger Action Month, a time to raise awareness about food insecurity and take steps to combat hunger in our communities.
At USANA Kids Eat, we marked this important month with our largest event to date, thanks to the tremendous support of America First Credit Union and the dedicated teams at USANA.
Together, we packed 6,000 weekend food bags, providing 150 local kids with food to take home for the next 40 weeks. For every student we serve, these bags are a lifeline for children who might otherwise go without meals on weekends when school meals aren’t available.
USANA has always been committed to the community, frequently sending teams to help pack bags for our program. However, this event was unique in its scale and required much more than just a day of bag-packing.
Members of USANA’s shipping team—Andrew Aumua, Daren Aumua, Yaire Rodriguez, and Cesar Sarria—stepped up in a big way by helping to prepare the necessary 20,000 pounds of food for the event hosted at the Grand America Hotel. Their hard work behind the scenes ensured that everything was ready for the hundreds of volunteers who came to pack bags and show their support for USANA Kids Eat.
The collaboration between USANA’s shipping team and the Foundation was nothing short of amazing. Their efforts made this event a massive success and highlighted the power of teamwork in the fight against hunger.
It takes a village to empower the hungry students in our area. We are hugely grateful to America First Credit Union and USANA for standing with us in the fight against childhood hunger.
Let’s continue this important work together—every action, big or small, helps ensure that no child ever goes hungry.
