We’re thrilled to announce that the USANA Foundation has been named Utah’s 2025 Best of State Medalist in the Humanitarian Organization category!
The statewide program honors people and organizations that excel, innovate, and improve quality of life across Utah. Winners are selected by more than 100 independent judges who weigh three criteria—achievement (50%), innovation/creativity (30%), and contribution to Utah’s quality of life (20%) bestofstate.org.

This year, judges singled out the Foundation for its dual impact: nourishing children close to home through USANA Kids Eat and empowering families worldwide with sustainable Garden Towers.
Why This Award Matters
Earning the Best Humanitarian Organization medal places us alongside Utah’s most visionary nonprofits and businesses. It validates years of hard work from our donors, volunteers, and partners, and confirms that holistic, nutrition-focused solutions can change lives both locally and globally.
“Excellence isn’t a destination; it’s our everyday standard. This award celebrates thousands of people who believe everyone deserves reliable, nutritious food.”
— Eric Davies, Sr. Manager – Development, USANA Foundation
Feeding Hope in Utah: USANA Kids Eat
- Weekly impact: Up to 9,000 meals are packed into 1,300 backpacks and delivered to at-risk youth across 40 schools along the Wasatch Front.
- Year-to-date: More than 560,000 meals provided in 2024, giving children confidence that they won’t go hungry over weekends and school breaks.
- Community power: Local volunteers—from USANA Associates to school clubs—turn warehouse shifts into high-energy service projects that build empathy and civic pride.
Growing Self-Reliance Worldwide: USANA Garden Towers
- Scale & efficiency: Nearly 50,000 Garden Towers now flourish in 14 countries, each producing ~1,100 meals per year while using 30% less water than traditional gardens.
- Affordability: At roughly $25 USD per tower, the model delivers one of the lowest “cost-per-meal” ratios in global nutrition.
- Women-led networks: The majority of tower stewards are women who leverage harvests for household nutrition and supplemental income—multiplying the program’s reach.

Gratitude & Next Steps
This medal belongs to every donor who rounded up a purchase, every volunteer who filled a backpack, and every partner who planted a seed. Thank you for proving that extraordinary things happen when good people unite around nutrition.
But hunger doesn’t take a victory lap—and neither will we. Here’s how you can keep the momentum going:
- Volunteer at an upcoming USANA Kids Eat pack. One hour = 150 meals.
- Donate a Garden Tower for just $25 and feed a family for years.
- Share this news! Post the graphic below on social and tag #USANAGives and #USANAFoundation.
Together, we’ll turn this honor into even greater impact—until every child is nourished and every community thrives.
